This week's Family Friday will get you and your family outside and put your observation skills to the test. After reading On the Go, you will go on a transportation scavenger hunt. Have fun!
What you need:
- Pre-made printable scavenger hunt (here)
- Pencil/pen
Step 1
Click to read On the Go. Read the book with your child. Be sure to touch the illustrations to see the pictures come alive! You can also find this book by opening up your Footsteps2Brilliance App and going to Level 1 (Red). In ALPS, find the book On the Go.
Step 2
Print out the scavenger hunt (here).
Trace the words.
Step 3
Take a walk outside. How many of these vehicles can you spot around your neighborhood? Using the box on the right, make a tally of how many you see! Tallies are a great way to practice counting and adding. If necessary, use strategies and tools to help your child find the sum of all their tallies at the end of the scavenger hunt.
